Ezri Konsa is reportedly having a medical at Aston Villa after they activated his release clause at Brentford.
That release clause was believed to be £12million as the newly-promoted club look to bolster their defensive options ahead of the start of the Premier League season.
The Sun report the 21-year-old is currently having a medical at the club before the proposed move is completed.
The central defender was signed by Brentford last summer for just £2.5million from Charlton and was a regular starter in the side.
Dean Smith was the manager who brought in Konsa last season and was a key member of his side before he left for Villa.
The pair are set to be reunited in the Premier League as the club continue to make moves in the transfer market.
Tyrone Mings was signed on a permanent deal from Bournemouth for £26million this week.
Brazilian striker Wesley was signed from Club Brugges while Jota was brought in from rivals Birmingham.
