An unnamed member of Manchester United’s backroom staff has been admitted to hospital after falling ill during the club’s pre-season tour of Australia.
The Premier League side arrived in Perth earlier this week with their first friendly against local side Perth Glory due to take place on Saturday.
They hosted an open training session at the WACA on Thursday night, but just a few hours later the unnamed individual was taken to hospital.
A club spokesperson confirmed: “A member of our backroom staff was taken ill overnight and has been sent to hospital by our club doctor for further treatment.
“We request that medical confidentiality is respected.”
