Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer claims he will build his team around Paul Pogba, while he hopes Alexis Sanchez will return to his best for the forthcoming campaign.
Pogba, the France midfielder, wants to quit Old Trafford amid strong interest from Real Madrid – and last month admitted it could be time for a ‘new challenge’.
But his move to the Bernabeu has been made harder by United’s tough transfer stance; reports claim the Red Devils originally valued Pogba at around £150million, but have raised the fee by £30million.
Solskjaer, however, who is preparing for his first full season as Man United boss, has stated he will build his team around the France World Cup winner for the 2019/20 campaign.

He told BBC Sport: “Paul is a fantastic player and a fantastic human being. He has always been a great professional. When I was at Molde, I said, ‘if he’s in your squad, you’d build a team around him’.
“I would say the same now. Manchester United fans know their football. We know Paul has been criticised by a few but he’s loved by loads more. You know, it’s the best feeling you can have to be at this club when we’re successful.
“The ones that might want to leave now haven’t been here when it’s been successful. Hopefully they want to be part of that. I want to be part of it.
Sanchez’s move to the Red Devils from Arsenal in January 2018, meanwhile, has been nothing short of a disaster, with the Chile international struggling for form and hampered by injury during his time at Old Trafford.
Nonetheless, Solskjaer promises to do everything he can to unearth Sanchez’s true ability at United next season.
“That gives me great belief because we know what he’s capable of,” he continued. “We have to find a way – me with Alexis, with the team – because there’s a top player there.
“If we get him firing, he can get us 20 goals easily. You saw it in the Copa America.
“The consistency hasn’t been there because he’s had some injuries, you just hope that he’s going to get the consistency back into his game.”
